New Outlook for Windows Replaced the Mail, Calendar, and People Apps

Microsoft going to discontinue the Windows Mail and Calendar app, and users will soon be redirected to the new Outlook for Windows.

The new Outlook for Windows comes with the latest features with a smart design for your Windows PC. You can avail it in your own way and do more with it. Let us know more about the Windows new Outlook version.

At the beginning of 2024, Windows 11 devices will be offered with the new Outlook for Windows as the default mailbox application free for all to utilize. With June 2023, we are commencing the process of migrating Windows Mail, Calendar, and People users to the new Outlook for Windows. Through the end of 2024, the Mail & Calendar applications will continue to be available to download from the Microsoft store.

On existing devices, users can use the new Outlook for Windows from a toggle in the Mail and Calendar applications.

Move to the new Outlook for Windows

To try the preview, you can slide the Try the new Outlook toggle available in the upper right corner of your Mail and Calendar or the classic Outlook for Windows applications, then check the onscreen instructions.

Note: You can switch to your previous experience anytime. Just slide the toggle off and it will open the previous version without any data loss.

Steps to export emails from Windows Mail

  1. Open the Windows Mail app on your computer.
  2. Select the emails, folders, or messages you want to export.
  3. Click on the “Export” or “Save As” option, often found in the File or Menu menu.
  4. Choose a format for exporting. Generally, you can select either EML or PST.
  5. Save the exported files to a location on your computer.

With the introduction of the new Outlook for Windows, users switch from Windows Mail, Calendar, and People apps to it.
